MCLINKO STATEMENT ON PRESIDENT TRUMP’S STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS
“Tuesday evening President Trump delivered his first State of the Union address. In his moving and compassionate speech, he touched on a few issues I believe are of the utmost importance to the people of Pennsylvania:
- American’s are Dreamers too: People who come here illegally should not be given priority at the expense of American citizens.
- The passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act: Higher 401k & pension funds, bigger take home pay, and a slashed business tax rate.
- Honoring our Police, Military and Veterans: These men and women deserve our constant unwavering support. The President emphasized the importance of respecting our flag and our God, with historic actions taken to protect our religious liberty.
- The National Opioid Crisis: 14 Pennsylvanians die every day from opioid use. I urge Congress to take aggressive action to allow the DEA to stop suspicious shipments, enforce stronger penalties for pill pushers, provide more assistance and support for recovering addicts, and explore real options for chronic pain patients.
The people of Pennsylvania deserve representatives that will put them first. I strongly urge members of Congress to work together to advance President Trump’s America First agenda in hopes of Making America Great Again.”
