DOUG MCLINKO STATEMENT ON MANCHIN DEA BILL
On Monday Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) introduced a bill that would write the wrongs of Rep. Tom Marino’s (R-Pa.) opioid legislation that has devastated communities in rural Pennsylvania. The opioid crisis is a nonpartisan issue and I applaud Sen. Manchin’s efforts to restore power to the DEA.
I am calling on Rep. Marino to return the $100k he received from opioid distribution industry political actions committees, and on his former Chief of Staff to step down from the 6-figure lobbying job he was awarded to pass this corrupt legislation. Rep. Marino’s typical Washington behavior has destroyed families across Pennsylvania. With the opioid crisis still on the rise, the time is now to remove Rep. Marino from office.”
