Redistricting map changes lines but not politics

STANDARD-SPEAKER –  While the 12th loses its part of Lackawanna, which would probably make Marino critics rejoice, other counties moving out of the district means more to his re-election chances.

Pike, Susquehanna and Wayne counties, all traditionally 12th district counties, move into the 17th and another traditionally 12th district county, Bradford, moves into the 5th Congressional District.

That removes from the 12th a serious potential challenger to Marino in the May 15 Republican primary election, Bradford County Commissioner Doug McLinko, and a potential Nov. 6 general election challenger, Democrat Judy Herschel of Susquehanna County…
